Walking Street and Pattaya Beach Road
Pattaya City has one of Asia's largest and most sophisticated discotheques. The Walking Street is famous for South Pattaya's famous bars and restaurants and is located at the end of Beach Road, where cars are off-limits.
GOLF: There are 18 international standard golf courses within a 30-minute drive of Pattaya that welcome overseas visitors 7 days a week. Most courses have been designed to championship standard by the world's top names in golf course architecture (eg. Laem Chabang by Jack Nicklaus; Sri Racha by Gary Player).
Although the quality of the golf courses is of top international level, these courses offer one of the world's most reasonable prices. Many courses hold a "sportsmen's day" often on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Green fees are around Bht 500. Caddies are usually available for about Bht 150. Compared to the west, the prices are a bargain. You can make all your own arrangements or book with a travel agent or golf booking agent locally, packages can often be purchased at a better rate than pay as you go. Thai golf courses nearly always offer high quality facilities such as high quality clubhouses. Golf carts are compulsory on some courses and friendly caddies will lighten your load while kiosks in between greens offer snacks and drinks to keep you fresh.
Para-Gliding: Twin-engine speed boats tow you 20 to 50 meters above the sea during a 15-minute glide over the waves from a floating base near Pattaya's island. Previously, this sport was offered from stations on the main beach; however, due to safety reasons, the operators relocated to floating pontoons close to Koh Larn (Larn Island). So if flying or parachuting is too adventurous for you to pursue, try para-gliding over the waves from a floating base near Pattaya!
